How We Started…

The Henderson Community Improvement Group (HCIG) was originally founded as a committee of the Henderson Business and Community Council (HBCC), under the leadership of then HBCC President, Dwight Davidson.  The goal of HCIG from the beginning was to help promote Henderson/Henderson Harbor.

In 2022, the group split from HBCC and began the process of establishing ourselves as a 501(c)3 (non-profit) status so that we could apply for grants to support our projects. The HBCC, as a 501(c)6, was not allowed to seek grants.

In 2023, we were granted non-profit status by both the State of New York and the Federal government. Our board members are all volunteers. Our financing derives from:
